PHP FXP is a little php script for transfering files between ftp, http(s) and local servers. It does not require FXP able FTP servers. Features include but are not limited to recursive directory/file fetching (=backup a whole [directory on a] ftp server) a built in FTP client and several transfer function. There is also a built in processing time limit workaround. It is lightning fast (nearly as fast as FXPing) and very easy to use.The new version 3.x also supports some free webspace hosts!
